One of the worst sights a driver will see is dents on his car. It doesn’t not matter how the dents were made, what matters is the faster they are removed the better the car owner feels.

Getting your car into the auto body shop for dent removal can be an expensive event. You’ll be happy to know that this is not the only option available. There are a number ways you can get rid of car dents in the privacy of a personal garage. Certain dents are cannot be removed by yourself. In these cases, the only option is to visit your local auto body shop.

For the car dents that can be fixed, start by going to a car repair retail shop. Dent removal kits take up a huge deal of space on store shelves. Every dent removal kit includes all the tools necessary for the general DIY weekend car repair enthusiast.

In lieu of using a drill to work on car dents, many of the do-it-yourself removal kits opt for suction cups. Depending on the kind of dent removal kit, any relative item to a suction cup may be used instead of a drill.

To get started, find a dolly tool that specializes in the flattening and reshaping of metal. Add to this a metalworking hammer and the dent removal kit.

Focus on the center of the dent. Place the suction cup or similar tool at this spot. For added removal strength, use the glue stick that is included in many dent removal kits. Attach a handle to the suction cup for better leverage in pulling the dent outward.

Gradually start to pull the suction cup and attached handle away from the center of the dent. This will cause the dent to flatten out. Next, take the metalworking hammer to tap the front portion of the dent. Keep the dolly firmly planted against the back portion of the dent. For this, going under the car exterior or through the car hood may be necessary.

Get a medium grit disk attached to a drill and remove the paint down to the metal. Create a section of at a minimum one inch radius around the dent. Fill this area with a body filler product. Once this part has dried, wrap a piece of sandpaper around a wood block and sand it. Start with a 36 grit paper and finish with a 120 grit paper.

With the area now sanded, apply 6 layers of auto designed primer. Let each layer dry before applying the next coat. Sand the area one more time using a 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper application. This process eliminates any non-visible scratches on the dent surface.

A fair number auto body shops focus on mobile dent removal. They utilize the paintless dent removal service bringing the auto body shop to the customer whether it be at home, at work or at play. Weather conditions are the only factor that can affect this revolutionary auto body repair service. Most paintless dent removal jobs can be completed in a period of one hour or less. In certainrare cases however, dent removal repair can only be done in the brick and mortar shop.

Car dents are never my cup of tea by any means. Car dents depreciate from the value of your car, whether it be monetarily or aesthetically. Thus I was 100% freaked out when I saw the most recent dent in my car.  For one thing for certain, car dents—I care how tiny, will make the car to look trashy and for another—it is not like I am rolling in money.

Car dent repair can be expensive and I wasn’t very sure that I could afford to get mine done, but I wouldn’t appreciate driving in the neighborhood in a dented car either.  Car dents have a way of multiplying.

I was searching around for a auto repair shop and calling to get quotes when I found Dent Masters.  Looking through their website I was impressed by 2 things:

1) that their dent removal method was explained very comprehensively on the  website and

2) that they got one of their people come down to my house and fix the dent for me.  Who doesn’t appreciate a business that comes to you instead of having you to go to them?

Do I even need to say that I hired them?

This is how the dent removal process works. Dent Masters employs a process known as Paintless Dent Removal, or PDR. It is a method whereby the dents are fixed without using tools that create the need for touch ups or refinishing. The technicians at Dent Master use specialized instruments to work at the dent until the dent is completely gone.

Paintless dent removal used to be limited to only small dents but now it can be remove bigger dents as well as including dents that would usually need some major body work to repair. The technicians can even fix dents that has been  caused by hailstones.

The PDR specialist that came to my house was pretty  friendly and talked to me the entire way through the process and when he was done with his work (which did not take nearly as long as I thought it would) my car looked like it had never been dented at all! I had feared that there might be some residual damage—a couple of small scratches in the paint from the tools for example, but there was none!

After knowing a a bit more on Dent Masters, I discovered that their company has been in operation for more than thirty  years and it comes as no surprise. Once you see how the paintless dent removal technique works, you won’t thinking of taking your car into a body shop ever again. Rather, you will make Dent Masters your first option.
